DISAPPOINTMENT A GOOD SIGN - DISLEY
Craig Disley says the overwhelming sense of disappointment felt by the players on Saturday shows how far the club has come in a year.
The Rovers midfielder admits that team-mates were "at each other's throats" after the final whistle, but says the reasons behind the passion are all good.
"After going a goal up and seemingly in control of the game we allowed Carlisle back into it in the second half and possibly defended a little bit too deep," Craig told bristolrovers.co.uk.
"However, with the chances we had I think we should have won. We had three or four clear-cut chances and I think it shows just how far we've come when we come to a place like Carlisle and are at each other's throats when we've only got a draw.
"It's disappointing but it's a good point and if we had been offered a point before the game maybe we would have taken it. We're just disappointed because we think we should have won."
Rovers face two home games in the next week, with league leaders Leyton Orient visiting the Memorial Stadium on Saturday followed by Southend United next Tuesday.
"On the positive side the group disappointment shows that we are all together and all pulling in the same direction and again, it shows how far we've come in a year," he said.
"So we'll take the positives from it and move on. We've preserved our unbeaten record away from home and it's good that we are disappointed that we only had a draw.
"The league table shows we're still only six points off the top and now we have two big home games coming up and if we win both of those then who knows where we are going to be.
"It's still all positive and overall it's been a good start to the season. It could have been a lot better, of that there's no doubt, but we've only lost one game so far and that is something to be pleased although we all know we need to build on it."
