Loan signing Wayne Andrews was carried off twenty minutes into his Rovers debut this afternoon with suspected medial ligament damage to his right knee.

Physiotherapist Phil Kite told bristolrovers.co.uk about the injury following the goalless draw at Huish Park.

He said: "Wayne twisted his knee underneath himself as he went to ground and it looks as though he has damaged his medial collateral ligament in his right knee and it looks as though his season is over.

"He definitely needs a scan and we will be speaking to Coventry about his injury. It does look as though his cruciate ligament is intact but it was an extremely painful injury and it was difficult to undertake an examination. When he came off he was given gas and air and Yeovil's club doctor was able to do a more thorough examination then.

"It's a similar injury to the one suffered by Steve Elliott earlier in the season and he made a very quick recovery and was back playing again in six weeks, although the normal recovery period is eight weeks and if it's serious Wayne might need surgery, so we need him to have a scan and I would guess that Coventry will want him back there so that they can asses the damage and get an orthopaedic surgeon to look at his knee to determine whether or not surgery is required."
