WALKER DEPARTURE POSSIBLE - TROLLS
Paul Trollope admits that Richard Walker could have played his last game for Bristol Rovers.
The striker hasn't featured in the Pirates starting side for some time, and recently hasn't even made the matchday 16.
Walker scored two goals at Wembley Stadium back in May to help send Rovers into League One, but since then Paul says the front man has struggled in the new division.
"We're looking to shape things for next season," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "He had a chance to go out on loan before the season ended, which he turned down, and we've got some young strikers now who are not scoring loads of goals but are playing well.
"Richard has been a fantastic servant to Bristol Rovers, and he's scored a lot of goals. He struggled earlier on this season, and like I say, I've chosen other strikers ahead of him at the moment.
"I have the utmost respect for Richard in the way he has conducted himself in this period, which has been difficult for him, and for what he has done for Bristol Rovers. It's not been forgotten, and we're not treating him disrespectfully.
"He has shown a great attitude in training and in reserve games, and after this season he still has a year left on his contract. But possibly the way it's looking is that he may be moving on in the summer.
"He turned a few loans down during the season, but we feel now that for League One we need to move on. That happens in football and Richard is old enough to understand that.
"But whatever happens, nobody can argue with Richard's record for this club or hs attitude, both of which have been first class."
