THAT SUMS US UP - TROLLS
Paul Trollope said today's 3-1 loss at Leyton Orient "summed up" the club's season.
The first team coach was relatively happy with the way his side performed in the first half, but was critical of some of the defending that followed after the break.
The two teams were level at the interval, but missed chances and poor clearances once again led to the team's downfall.
"Obviously we're disappointed to have lost the final game," Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We were looking forward to it, and we had wanted to go out with a bang and with three points.
"Going forward we were ok, but defensively we stood off too much and gave them too much space, especially in the second half.
"They turned the screw late on in the game, but by the time they scored their second I felt we'd had enough ourselves to have been ahead/
"We had a lot of shots on and off target, especially in the first half, but we didn't have enough quality about us to convert them. And then we showed the soft side to our defending that's been evident over recent weeks.
"That sums up our season, we've finished 16th, but we wanted to and expected to finish higher. But we're where we are and we've fallen short because of our inability to take chances.
"We need to add one or possible two strikers for next season to make sure we address that, and that we progress. We're shaping the squad to make sure we move forward, and keep going in the right direction."
