Regrettably, it has been decided that the cover price for next season's matchday programme, The Pirate, will be increased to £3.00.
The increasing cost of paper and a projected increase in transport costs means that the club can no longer hold the price at £2.50.

The publication will still contain 64 pages and some new features are proposed, though as editor Keith Brookman says, their success relies on the involvement of supporters.

"Changes to the design, content and format of the programme were discussed at a meeting of contributors at the end of May and I have been working closely with the printers, TL Visuals, to finalise the layout.

"We decided at our meeting that we would like to devote at least a page, perhaps more if there is a demand, for supporters to send in birthday greetings for friends or family, wedding or anniversary announcements or photos of themselves on holiday wearing a Rovers shirt.

"In addition, those who collect Rovers memorabilia might like to let us know of any recent purchases they have made, or email us copies of photos from the past that may not have been published. Others may have items for sale to a list of items they wish to purchase.

"Print deadlines will mean that items for inclusion in a programme for a Saturday game will need to be with us by the previous Tuesday and items for Tuesday evening game will need to be with us the previous Friday.

"Kirsty Pugh has kindly agreed to co-ordinate the requests and all information should be sent to her, in the first instance, at kirstypugh@bristolrovers.co.uk or by post to her at the Memorial Stadium.

"Another new feature, being co-ordinated by Jamie Howarth, is a question and answer section with players, with the questions being posed by supporters. The working title is 'You Call the Shots' and one player will be featured in each programme, commencing with the Hereford game.

"The first three players to be featured will be Steve Phillips (Hereford), Danny Coles (Walsall) and Jeff Hughes (Crewe). Supporters are invited to send in their questions for any of these three players, directly to Jamie, at jamiegas@blueyonder.co.uk
