FOUR FOR JOSH
Striker Josh Klein-Davies was pleasd with his contribution to Thursday evening's 4-0 win against MABI and he had every reason to, as he scored all four goals.
"It was the first time I'd scored four goals in a senior game, so it was very pleasing."
Although the margin of the win was comfortable, and there were many positives to be drawn from the performance, he felt that MABI provided a good test for the relatively young Rovers side.
"In the first half, they came out and looked quite good. They moved the ball around well, and it was a really good test for us.
"I scored one in the first half, but Idid have a couple of opportunities before that, when I probably could have held on to the ball a little bit better. As the half went on, though, I had a shot and, fortunately for me, it went in.
"That goal really gave me confidence to kick on and get a couple more, but I think that first one was the best of the lot.
"Ryan Green did very well, and hit a great ball to me down the right flank. He played the first 70 minutes of the match, and it's great that he's back playing football again after all his injury worries."
He was also pleased to score two goals with his head.
"Heading is probably the biggest weakness in my game, and it's something I've been tryimng to address, so I was pleased to score twice with my head, although the one from a cross by Andy Williams was the one that gave me most pleasure out of those two."
One of several young players in the side, he knew that then game gave him a chance to impress the management team.
"They told us all, before the game, that it was a big chance for us and to take the game to the opposition. Hopefully, my goals will serve as a reminder of what I can do.
It was his last action of the tour as, on Friday morning, he flew out of Copenahgen airport to Manchester to link up with the Welsh U-19 squad for their week long stay in Ireland where they take part in the MIlk Cup.
" The goals I scored on Thursday will give me confidence going into the three games I have for Wales, and it will be good to test myself at international level.
"In a way, though, it will be disappointing to leave the Rovers tour. It's the first one I've ever been on with a professional club, and it's been excellent. It's been very well organised and there's been nothing to find fault with at all. Whilst it's disappointing to be missing the final game, I'm sure the lads will do well.
