WE CAN ACHIEVE SUCCESS - ANTHONY
Byron Anthony says Rovers have got the players to deliver success in this season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The Pirates made the final of the competition two years ago as a League Two club, before losing to Doncaster Rovers 3-2 at the Millennium Stadium.
This season Rovers enter the opening round a division higher, and Byron says the players are confident that they can make an impression on the competition.
"It would be nice to get to the final again," Byron told bristolrovers.co.uk, "Last time around I had just come back from injury and was on the bench, but it was still a great experience.
"But this is a difficult tie we've got first, and we need to deal with Bournemouth before we can think about anything else.
"They are a good footballing team, but I think as a League One club we will be expected to go there and win. Hopefully we will do that, and progress through to the next round."
A victory tonight will send Rovers into the last 32 of the tournament, and Byron says that just like any other fixture, so long as it's the next game, it's the most important one.
"I think we've got the players to do well and to succeed in the competition," he said, "Obviously it's early days now, but the start to the season has been promising and we'll continue to take each game as it comes.
"This is the next game for us, and it's the most important one. If we go there and get a result, then we can look forward to the league on Saturday, and in time look forward to the next round of the competition."
