The Bristol Rovers Supporters Club is setting up a new branch in North East Somerset.

The group was set up following the set of successful question and answer sessions that were held around the region.

After the meeting at Paulton Rovers, three ladies came forward willing to set up a branch in the area.

Supporters Club director Ken Masters met with the founders of the very successful Weston-Super-Mare branch to get some tips for the North East Somerset group.

One of the keys to their success was having a meeting point for fundraisers and social activities - The Windsor Castle pub.

This information was passed onto the ladies, who have enlisted the help of the landlord at The Crown in Clapton near Midsomer Norton.

The group will be holding an informal meet and greet session at the pub on Thursday night from 8pm. It will be a good opportunity for people who have not yet joined the Supporters Club to come along and find out more, with the option of joining up on the night.

Current members of the Supporters Club looking to meet more Rovers fans in the area are also welcome.

The branch will be running a coach from The Crown to the Leicester City match on November 1st.

They will be using a local coach company, who have promised to match the prices of the official coaches leaving from Bristol.

Ken Masters said: "The question and answer sessions were a great success and we are delighted to be setting up another branch.

"We also have people interested in setting up their won groups in West Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, which should be happening in the near future.

"If any other expats living in any region of the country know other Rovers fans living near them and would like to start a branch, then I would love to hear from them."

A group of Rovers fans in Edinburgh have also been in touch with Ken about the possibility of setting up a Scottish branch.

They ran a mini-bus to the Leeds United away match, and hope to arrange transport to attend many more matches in the north of the country during the season.
