Jeff Hughes says Rovers must put the disappointment of Tuesday night behind them this weekend.

The Pirates take on Peterborough United at London Road four days after crashing 3-0 at the hands of League Two side AFC Bournemouth.

The Posh are on of the division's most fancied sides for promotion, and Jeff knows how important bouncing back is.

"They've spent a lot of money, and are one of the favourites to go up," Jeff told bristolrovers.co.uk, "We will have to go there and make sure we are a lot better than we were in the week, because if we don't improve then we will be in trouble.

"I was there on loan last season, and I know how good they are. They've got good attacking players, and defensive ones as well. They've got players who can dominate the game, and we will need to break them up.

"Last season they were a bit erratic, but they went on an amazing run at the end of the season and that's what saw them go up.

"We just have to put Tuesday out of our heads and if we can do that and win tomorrow, then it's been a very good start to the league season for us."

Jeff enjoyed a brief spell on loan at Peterborough last season, and has only words of praise for the club's manager Darren Ferguson.

"He's a good manager, a good laugh, and the lads love him," he said, "He's a nice bloke, although he can also be tough and angry when he needs to be.

"The players listen to him, because he's earned their respect. He's played in the lower leagues so he knows what he's talking about.

"He's a top man, although it helps when he takes you on trips to see some of Manchester United's European games!"
